Personal Auto Premium Saving Ideas

Auto premiums seem to increase each year and this is a concern to us all. We would like to make you aware of a few ways you can reduce your premiums.

  1. Increase your deductible on comprehensive and collision coverages or drop the coverages altogether if your vehicle can be self insured
  2. Having the serial number of the vehicle etched in the windshield can reduce the comprehensive premium. This etching can be done at car dealerships or sometimes the police department will offer this service at no charge.
  3. Anti-Theft Alarms can reduce the comprehensive premium
  4. Anti-lock brakes can reduce the collision premium
  5. Air bags can reduce the Personal Injury Protection premium
  6. If you are over the age of 55 – take a senior operator motor vehicle accident prevention course
  7. Drivers Training Discount are save money for drivers under the age of 22
  8. Good Student Discounts are allowed for full time students that maintain an overall "B" average
  9. Loss free discounts are used by most companies, so think twice before turning in a small claim
  10. Deductibles can reduce your Personal Injury Protection premiums
  11. Towing & Labor is not a good coverage to add to your auto policy. If you use it, it counts against you as a claim. A better way to handle this exposure is to self insure, or belong to an auto club such as AAA.
