We have a variety of coverage options available for your Home/Condo/Renters insurance policies.
Property
Identity Theft
Many of our carriers offer various limits of coverage to assist and protect in the event you are a victim of identity theft. This unfortunately has become pervasive in our society.
Guaranteed Replacement Cost
Some of our carriers offer Guaranteed Replacement Cost coverage, or Enhanced Replacement Cost Coverage. This is an important feature because experience has shown that a valid replacement cost figure today may not even come close to replacing your property in the event of widespread damage. For example, following hurricane Katrina, costs to replace a dwelling doubled because of the shortage of materials and labor.
Special Property
There are limits on certain classes of property in all Home/Condo/Renters policies. These limits vary by company and by policy. If you have property such as jewelry, furs, silverware, goldware, guns, collections (trading card, coin or stamp, etc), bullion or cash check with your agent to make sure you are not over the limit provided by your policy. In addition, by scheduling your items specifically, you will get a broader coverage and lower deductible on other types of property such as fine arts, antiques, golf equipment, cameras, bicycles and jewelry.
Earthquake
Our carriers offer earthquake coverage for your structures and personal property. It is relatively inexpensive, but carries a higher deductible than your other insured perils. A 5% to 10% deductible is standard.
Flood
Flood coverage is available through the National Flood Insurance Program. This is sponsored by the Federal Government.
Liability
Comprehensive Personal Liability
Personal Liability coverage is very inexpensive. We usually recommend at least $500,000 coverage limits or higher.
At-home-business
We can add coverage for many at home businesses to your policy. Also, many times a business pursuits coverage is available for you to give you coverage for your normal work activities away from your premises.
Umbrella Liability
An Umbrella Liability policy offers additional liability protection. It provides higher limits in increments of $1,000,000 over and above the basic personal liability coverage that is part of your Home/Condo/Renters policy. It also gives the protection over and above your other liability policies such as auto, boat, motorcycle, rental dwellings and secondary residences. It can even provide some protection in certain circumstances not covered on your basic polices.
Personal Injury Liability
This coverage adds libel, slander and false arrest as additional types of claims that are covered in addition to the normal bodily injury and property damage coverage.
